Hi I've just updated from MinimServer 0.8 to 2 on my Qnap NAS and didn't realise that it would update to a new version. MinimServer is a UPnP AV music server with a number of innovative features that make it easier to organize and explore your music collection. So the issue is likely to be with main foobar2000 itself not able to play the particular file you are trying to stream or it has a problem outputting any audio at all - rather than a problem with its UPnP renderer.
I have installed Audacity from repo site but it will not. I now need to edit some of my sound files and would like to do this on the RPi suing Audacity. This setup works very well and plays music served from NAS by minimserver. I am using Mplayer with upmpdcli front end and controlling with BubbleDS control app from phone. Other than starting/stopping, foo_upnp has no other setting for the UPnP renderer since the UPnP renderer is automatically set to use foobar2000's audio engine. I am running Raspbian (Jesse) on RPi3 with an IQaudIO DAC+ sound card. When you install foo_upnp, it starts the UPnP renderer it provides by default. Given that you mention the BubbleUPnP Android app actually discovering the foobar2000 UPnP renderer, this should mean that you have installed the correct plugin component in foobar2000, ie, foo_upnp.
